Creating Your Provider Profile

A complete and accurate provider profile helps NDIS participants find and connect with your services. Here's how to create an effective profile.

Profile Components

Your provider profile includes several key sections:

Basic Information

  • Organisation Name - Your registered business name
  • ABN - Australian Business Number
  • NDIS Registration Number - If registered with NDIS
  • Trading Name - If different from legal name

Contact Details

  • Primary phone number
  • Email address
  • Physical address
  • Website URL
  • Social media links

Service Information

  • Service Categories - NDIS registration groups you're registered for
  • Service Areas - Postcodes or regions you service
  • Age Groups - Children, adults, seniors, etc.
  • Specializations - Specific disabilities or conditions you specialize in

About Your Organisation

  • Description - Detailed overview of your services and approach
  • Mission Statement - Your organisation's values and goals
  • Staff Qualifications - Key qualifications and certifications

Best Practices for Profiles

Write Clear Descriptions

Use plain language that's easy for everyone to understand. Avoid jargon and technical terms where possible. Remember that participants and their families may not be familiar with industry terminology.

Be Specific About Services

Rather than saying "We provide support services," describe exactly what you offer: "We provide in-home personal care, community access, and skill-building programs for adults with physical disabilities."

Keep Information Current

Update your profile whenever:

  • Contact details change
  • Service areas expand or contract
  • New services are added
  • Staff qualifications change

Highlight What Makes You Different

Share what sets your organisation apart:

  • Specialized training or certifications
  • Unique service delivery methods
  • Cultural or language capabilities
  • Years of experience

Tip: Profiles with complete information and clear descriptions receive more enquiries from potential participants.
