Keyboard Navigation Help

DSX Platform supports comprehensive keyboard navigation for improved accessibility. Use these shortcuts to navigate quickly without a mouse.

Tip: Press Shift + ? at any time to show the keyboard shortcuts overlay.

Custom Keyboard Shortcuts

Toggle custom keyboard shortcuts on or off. This setting is saved to your browser.

For screen reader users: If custom shortcuts conflict with your assistive technology, disable them here. Standard Tab navigation, Enter, Space, and Escape keys always work regardless of this setting.

Global Shortcuts

These shortcuts work throughout the entire application:

Quick Navigation

  • Quick searchCtrl + K
  • Skip to main contentAlt + C
  • Main navigationAlt + M
  • Open quick menu (when skip link focused)M

Page Navigation

  • Go to homepageAlt + H
  • Skip to footerAlt + Shift + F
  • Close modal/dialogEsc

Table Navigation

When focused on a data table, use these keys to navigate:

  • Move up↑
  • Move down↓
  • Move left←
  • Move right→
  • First cell in rowHome
  • Last cell in rowEnd
  • Select rowSpace
  • Perform actionEnter

Form Navigation

Standard form navigation keys:

  • Next fieldTab
  • Previous fieldShift + Tab
  • Submit formCtrl + Enter
  • Toggle checkbox/radioSpace
  • Open dropdownAlt + ↓

Screen Reader Support

DSX Platform is fully compatible with screen readers. All interactive elements include proper ARIA labels and live regions announce important changes.

Recommended Screen Readers:

  • NVDA (Windows) - Free and open source
  • JAWS (Windows) - Commercial
  • VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) - Built-in
  • TalkBack (Android) - Built-in
